Interns Flock to DC Leadership School
Interns from public policy, grassroots organizations
and educational groups expressed enthusiasm for our
Washington D.C. Federalist leadership School . Th e
well-attended three day seminar was co-sponsored by the
American Conservative Union Foundation.
Interns represented many of the most infl uential groups
in the nation’s capital and the country’s best schools:
American Conservative Student Union, the American
Conservative Union, Americans for Prosperity, Americans
for Tax Reform, Citizens Against Government Waste, the
Corporate Research Board, Freedomworks, Intercollegiate Studies Institute, Leadership Institute, Patrick Henry
Center, Romney for President, Students for Life, Students
for Prosperity, Young Americans for Freedom, and Young
Republicans.

Here is what some of the students said:
“I wish Donald Devine was teaching at my university!
Dr. Devine puts the U.S. Constitution and American
history in an insightful perspective that is very much
needed in today’s public policy debates. The Federalist
Leadership School upholds the timeless truth that one cannot
be a leader without sound philosophical principles and
then brilliantly explains the principles upon which America
was founded and which all government leaders should take
to heart. Your School opened my eyes to the great mystery and miracle that is the United States of America.” - Anthony Listi, Texas A&M student interning with
Americans for Prosperity
“The Federalist Leadership School is the educational
experience of a lifetime. It was most beneficial to hear from
a gentleman who actually limited the government through
Constitutional principles. The more information students
hear about federalism, original intent, and limited
government, the better our nation’s future will be.” - David Ferguson, University of Alabama, American
Conservative Student Union

“The Federalist training was philosophically empowering. My university does not teach philosophy like this.” - Kyle Bristow, Michigan State University, the Leadership
Institute “I recently had the privilege of attending your three day
lecture in Washington. I thoroughly enjoyed the talk and
will recommend it to like-minded acquaintances.” - James Mazol, Americans for Prosperity “I just wanted to thank you again for your lecture series.
After these last three days I feel much more competent
discussing the role of government in freedom, a subject I have
endless curiosity for. Thanks again,” - Ashley Emans, University of Florida, American
Conservative Union
“I have been working on campaigns and organizations
my whole college career. I often blindly committed to
these causes and have developed my political beliefs due
to good and bad experiences. But after our lecture with
Dr. Devine, I can now say I have further solidified my ambitions with real education.” - John Connors, Marquette University, Students for
Prosperity
